GCON previously re-purposed an old fitness facility into a new speculative office building in which Retinal Consultants purchased for their ophthalmology practice. This two-story, state-of-the-art facility includes exam and consultation rooms, doctor offices, research area, and a coffee bar. Controlled lighting in the waiting areas and exam rooms provide comfort to patients during dilation. Floating cloud panels and waterfall patterned Corian add softness to the lobby and waiting areas.
GCON was tasked with a fast track 30,000 sq ft tilt project coupled with a large structural steel entry mixed with EIFS and stone for Ashley Furniture Homestore Located in Tempe AZ. GCON was proud to be part of the Goodwill project, knowing their impact in the community. This new Goodwill location was a former exotic car dealership. The project started with demolition to the raised office in the center of the building. A wall was added to rear of building in order to create a stock room. Storefront modifications included the addition of fitting rooms, breakroom, IT room, managers office and restrooms. New lighting was installed throughout. The main entrance door was removed and widened while four front windows were blocked out to offer additional shelving. Sliding doors and ceiling tile from the dealership were reused, offering cost savings to the client. Exterior changes included a new loading dock, roll up door and parking configuration when the detail shop was removed from the lot.
GCON was contracted to design build this project. We demolished 3 old buildings that had to be reviewed by the historical society prior to demo and we also had to have special demolition permits in order to demolish the building since they were historical. We developed the entire site, utilities, new parking lot, new drive-thru, landscaping area, retention areas and a new shell building. The building itself had finished exteriors.
